susume
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how susume ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our website and AI-assisted product research chat at susume.org. This is a basic policy for an early-stage service. It is not legal advice. We may update it as the product evolves.
Information we collect
We may collect: (1) search and chat content you submit, including follow-up messages and comparison requests; (2) conversation snapshots stored on your device or, if you sign in or create a share link, on our servers; (3) basic account information from Google sign-in (such as name, email address, and profile image) when you choose to authenticate; (4) technical data such as browser type, approximate location derived from IP for locale or market defaults, and device identifiers we generate to support guest conversation storage; (5) product interaction and analytics events (for example, pages viewed and buttons clicked) through our analytics provider; and (6) optional information you include in bug reports.
How we use information
We use information to operate and improve susume, including generating product recommendations, running multi-turn research chat, restoring your conversation history, creating read-only share links when you request them, preventing abuse, debugging errors, and measuring product usage. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your chat content to train third-party foundation models.
AI and third-party services
susume uses third-party providers to power core features. These may include large language model APIs (such as OpenAI) for chat and summarization, web and shopping search providers (such as Serper or SerpApi), Google for optional sign-in, cloud hosting (such as Google Cloud), and analytics (such as Mixpanel). When you use chat, your prompts and relevant context may be sent to these providers to generate a response. Please do not submit sensitive personal information (for example, government IDs, health records, or financial account numbers) in chat.
Data retention
Guest conversation history on your device is typically retained for up to 30 days. Server-stored conversations for signed-in users are kept until you delete them or until they are removed under our inactive-account policy (currently up to one year without updates). Read-only share archives are retained for at least 30 days and may be kept longer (currently up to 90 days) unless you revoke the link sooner. Analytics and operational logs are retained for shorter periods appropriate to their purpose.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. You can clear local history from your browser, delete individual chats where supported, revoke share links, and sign out of your account. To request help with account data, contact us using the details below.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
susume is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of susume after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
